About the instructor.
Hey there! I’m Mike—a lifelong fishing enthusiast, dedicated instructor, and, most importantly, a proud dad and husband.
I’ve spent years exploring New Jersey’s incredible freshwater and saltwater fisheries, and I love sharing the tips and techniques that have helped me find success. My courses are designed to be fun, hands-on, and interactive, with a strong focus on both safety and conservation. Whether it’s a first-time angler or a young fishing enthusiast looking to improve, my goal is to make every lesson exciting and educational.
Safety is my top priority. I’m Red Cross certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid for both pediatric and adult care, and I’ve completed a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting. You can feel confident that your student is learning in a safe, responsible, and supportive environment.

We are strictly a catch and release program and follow all NJDEP Fish and Wildlife rules and regulations.

Our classes start in late April and continue through the end of October. Please review our registration page for additional details.
What happens if class is cancelled because of weather?
If weather becomes a factor, we may change the time or reschedule class for another day in the same week. If you are unable to attend a class we can reschedule you for a comparable lesson. Just reach out.
Does my student qualify for this program?
These classes are designed for children ages 8 to 15, welcoming all skill levels. As an inclusive small business, we foster a team-oriented atmosphere built on respect—for both people and the fish we encounter.
Is it possible to make changes to my designated date?
Yes. Connect with us, and we’ll make every effort to accommodate your requests!
What should I bring to class?
See our checklist and Pinterest to learn more about what items your student needs for class.
Do I need a fishing license?
NJ DEP Fish and Wildlife requires anyone age 16 and older must have a license to fish the fresh waters of New Jersey (including privately owned waters) with handline, rod and reel or with a bow. To fish for trout or salmon requires a trout stamp.
